Prayer

Mountains loom ahead
The sea is close behind
The desert lies in between
the oasis and the fertile land.
March forward and climb
Or retreat and swim against the tides.
To reach the oasis, cross burning sands
Trudge the parched land,
Endure thirst’s yen with a smile.
No easy path to heaven
No angel wings to glide
Born to do our best
To endure, to survive .
Let the mind pour strength into tired limbs
Let the fruits of our toil be our judge
Come rain or spring , or divine respite.
Never from our chosen path, may we budge.
