Tango

The tunnel widens out as we pass through

Your arm around me, me looking up at you

We walk with soft steps as if this were a slow waltz

Ephemeral beats of pleasure drum across our hearts

No sea to part here, no rivers stand sentry

Just hazy shadows of trees moving apart gently

I look up, you are already at the bend

The tube of my dream has come to an end

Sweet waves of longing persist in lapping at my toes

I wake up from my dream, smile and then dream some more.
