Moon maid

Night made beautiful by fallen stars
Coral jasmine upon green grass

Sleep killed by a nepenthetic andante
ending to re-begin as an adagio again

Caressed by the lusty breeze and unseen eyes
her freedom, the envy of nomadic sprites

Brown legs swinging in rhythm with open hair,
her youth in full view of the moon’s soft stare

The moon, a spotlight upon a live Van Gogh
Lush madness scorching her prim shadows

She sits naked upon a padlocked gate
singing a libertine song, none to translate.
