Playing without rules

Well behaved today
our thoughts bow invisibly
like Sumo wrestlers do
before the actual fray

I see your point of view come dashing
and my reasoning adroitly side steps
A tiny laugh peeps through a dimple, hastily curbed
as I see a flattened ego on the wall.

But you recover soon enough
to shoot remorse-tipped arrows
that induce guilt by
merely brushing against my shadow.
