The descent

Pour me over the slopes

yet again

as I melt into your waiting self

Let me flow down, cascading,

throwing my blue sparkles

into the friendly valleys,

gushing wet over loamy fields.

A serpent swaying to unheard music.

Hold me firm, release me gently

and I smile at you

as I meander away

painting green saplings by my sides

and silvery tattoos on golden sunbeams

only to re-emerge

again and again

for a feel of your arms

that hold, reassure

and let go.

  1. Self as water? One of the most important lessons I have learned in life, is “to be as water” – be fluid and patient, flexible, yet certain in direction. Water is more than life, it shapes us all. Considering how much of our bodies are made up of water, this element resonates with everyone, I think. I like your take on it. 🙂
